Victorian House Venue Visit : McBrides Nursery / Tahoe Tree Company

The Victorian House visits venues around the Reno/Sparks/Carson/Tahoe areas each month so that we know the venues our brides and clients are selecting to provide the best service possible.  We will feature one or more venues each month as we visit them and give you our feedback and pictures to help give you more information about what is available for your special day!

McBride's Nursery / Tahoe Tree Company
401 West Lake Blvd Tahoe City, CA 96145

While a nursery may not be the first location to come to mind for a destination wedding, if you are making plans to tie the knot at Tahoe, it would definitely be worth your while to check out the Tahoe Tree Company, 401 West Lake Blvd in Tahoe City (just past the Y, at Highway 89 and Granlibakken Rd).  And go now, before the snow flies and the gorgeous autumn leaves disappear!  The setting is something of a cross between elegant villa grounds and a cozy, but superbly kept, backyard.  The facilities, including the two-story, 6400 sq. ft. log building can host a ceremony (with dramatic stairway entrance for the bride) and/or a reception, and the main building opens out to patio areas of various sizes and colorful gardens, so could accommodate larger groups.  Of course, summer events here would be spectacular, but the log main house, with its high ceilings and many windows, is available for winter weddings and events as well.  And everything about it is oh so Tahoe--rustic but stylish.  The Victorian House vendors love this location, and we think you'll find it truly magical!

Victorian House Member Feature: I Thee Wed

The Wedding Day- From the Ministers Perspective

Life is about to change forever for two very special people. How do I share with them a message that will encourage them, honor them, and possibly equip them for the journey they are on? This wedding is not about me as the pastor, how wonderful my teaching might be, or if my words can bring the audience to tears. This day is about me as the pastor finding a way to highlight the bride and groom’s special individual qualities and celebrate their love for each other. This day is about me using my words to create a frame that will display the amazing gift of love and commitment shared between the bride and groom. This day is to prepare these two people who have found each other for the great adventure that we call marriage.

Kristopher Dahir is a pastor that has been married to his lovely bride for over 18 years and has two wonderful teenage children. He is the senior pastor at Freedom Fellowship in the Spanish Springs area. He has walked with couples for over 15 years as they approach their marriage celebration and has equipped those who are married with the proper tools to enhance their relationship. He has performed weddings for Caesar’s Palace, Maverick Helicopter, D & R Hot Air Balloons, Circus Circus, Atlantis, Peppermill, and a myriad of other wedding venues. He has included in his ceremonies many of the different ceremonies (i.e. unity candle, sand ceremony), cultural ceremonies (i.e., coin exchange, lasso ceremony, jumping the broom), and is able to share a portion of the message in Spanish if desired. He is currently working with The Victorian House as their minister and would be honored to have the opportunity to create that frame that will allow your love to be displayed for all of your guests to see. Please contact Pastor Kristopher if you would like to speak to him about making that day you have been dreaming of --a reality.

Welcome to The Victorian House's New Blog!

Why run around town meeting with potential wedding vendors when you can make one stop at the Victorian House and meet with as many as you'd like?  Choose the vendors you are interested in, select your package or price range, and take advantage of multiple-vendor discounts.  Best of all, you will be hiring professionals with experience working together.  You won't have to guess if your team is a good mix.  You will have confidence that they are prepared and know each other's styles and routines.  With The Victorian House event professionals, your wedding or special event will be in good hands.  We also welcome any outside vendors you choose to include and can recommend additional vendor services.
